This blade is actually made from two pieces of steel that have been fused side-by-side. That's not a hammon line, that's where the two pieces of steel join. The spine of the blade is made from Damascus steel. The edge is made from a high-carbon steel that takes and retains an excellent edge. The result is the best of both worlds. This is a very difficult and unusual technique. Unusual in knifemaking and rare indeed for a balisong knife.
